Acupuncture
It is used to diagnose, treat and prevent illness and improve wellbeing. It is also used within the framework of esoteric acupuncture to help the individual become aware of higher frequency healing and to establish a strong connection with their higher selves. In the last 50 years it has become established as a form of Complementary Medicine in the west. Due to its proven effectiveness it has been recognized by the World Health Organization, and increasingly by medical practitioners. How does Acupuncture work? Acupuncture influences the flow of Qi (chee) along meridians, which are like imaginary electromagnetic energetic pathways. This energy is described as our life force energy, vital to the functioning of our being as a whole. The insertion of very fine needles at various points along the meridians influence the Qi. Insertion of each needle is so swift that minimal discomfort is involved. The needles are left in position for 45-50 minutes while the individual rests in a relaxed environment. Conditions treated by Acupuncture In 1979 the World Health Organization compiled a list of over 40 diseased which are responsive to acupuncture. This list will give a broad view of the illnesses treatable, although there are many more.

Hot flushes are the most common perimenopausal symptom occurring in about 70 – 80% of all perimenopausal women. They can be very mild or so severe that they can result in sleep disturbance an subsequent depression. Acupuncture works to regulate the flow of life energy or qi in the body and therefore is particularly appropriate for perimenopause, a time when our energy is completely renewing itself.
